Such is the night,
street lights glistening, no human in sight,
a sound in the distance that you don't recognize;
one is absorbed in the stillness and sublime,
just like a capsule lost in time,
and brought back with the sound of a chime,
feels the soft, soothing air
brushing past the cheeks and dallying with the hair.
The occasional honk of truck horns and
rumble of rail-tracks,
the chirping of crickets
envelopes the air,
and the soft dew covers the grass with gentle care.
The darkness around
sets a fire inside
and the dullest of spirits it does ignite;
such is the night,
such is the night.
