Seasons of Love and Loss

Grief is strange

sometimes; I remember everything you said

and laugh carelessly in a crowded street.

Love is confusing

sometimes; I smell your perfume

and cry my heart out to a drunk stranger.

Life is wonderful

sometimes; I hug you tightly

and all my fears go away.

Heartbreak is peaceful

sometimes; your name doesn’t break me down

and tears of happiness roll down my cheeks.

Every heartbreak feels so different,

but why is the void in my heart only getting bigger as I am getting older?
